Louise Montillio is as an American artist who was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. She grew up with an appreciation for the rich textures and patterns of different cultures that she interacted with. Louise pursued her college education at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Arizona State University. She began her career as an illustrator for calendars and books, eventually moving on to larger-scale art. Louise now paints exclusively in oil and her highly detailed murals are commissioned by designers, hotels, and private collectors and Boston area and throughout the United States. Her love of architecture and history was awakened when she bought and started the process of restoring the neglected Colonial home that was built in 1818. The project still continues to date.

Louise lives and paints in Massachusetts (Hingham), where she lives with her family, all of whom are involved actively in local humane societies. She loves that art is a path to another person's heart or view. Her own view pulls her into details, like a well-worn carving or a fallen petal. It brings up to the surface the feeling that someone has just been there, and in that way. The art is given life by the artist and the art becomes alive and is perhaps unique to the viewer. Louise tends to think that the capability to paint is a skill that is learned. Just like most things, if someone wants strongly enough to learn something, they will. She adds that the talent comes from loving the adventure.
